This Privacy Policy describes how Populse (operated by Subramani Shanmugam, sole proprietor, Udyam Registration UDYAM-TN-28-0207572) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Populse mobile application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your registered mobile number and email address, used for authentication.
• Portfolio data: holdings, transactions, and broker account details you voluntarily upload via CAS/CSV/manual entry or connect via broker APIs (Angel One, Zerodha, Groww, etc.).
• Device information: device model, OS version, app version, and crash logs for diagnostic purposes.
• Usage data: in-app actions to improve the product experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you via SMS OTP at login.
• To compute portfolio analytics, tax calculations, and performance metrics for your personal use.
• To deliver notifications about your portfolio (e.g., dividend dates, corporate actions).
• To improve the application and fix bugs.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region, keeping Indian user data within Indian jurisdiction. Access is restricted via row-level security, and all traffic uses TLS encryption. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using Android Keystore.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, and your data may be processed by them strictly to provide the Populse service:

• MSG91 — SMS OTP delivery
• Supabase — Database hosting (Mumbai, India)
• Fly.io — Application backend hosting (Mumbai, India)
• Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-powered explanations (no user data retained by Anthropic per their API terms)
• Razorpay — Subscription payment processing
• Angel One, Zerodha, Groww — Broker APIs, only when you explicitly connect them

5. What We Do NOT Do

• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not share your portfolio information with advertisers.
• We do not provide investment advice, stock recommendations, or price predictions.
• We do not access your broker account beyond the permissions you grant.

6. Your Rights

• Access: request a copy of your data by emailing us.
• Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
• Correction: correct any inaccurate information through the app or by contacting us.
• Portability: export your portfolio data in CSV format.

7. Children

Populse is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be notified in the app and via email. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
