Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Populse mobile application and related services ("Service"), operated by Subramani Shanmugam, sole proprietor (Udyam Registration UDYAM-TN-28-0207572), based in Tamil Nadu, India.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Nature of Service

Populse is a portfolio tracking and analytics application. It is not:

• A SEBI-registered Investment Adviser (RIA) or Research Analyst (RA).
• A broker or trading platform.
• A source of investment advice, stock recommendations, or price predictions.

All analytics, insights, and AI-generated content provided by Populse are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute investment advice. Consult a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser before making any investment decision.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of India to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your mobile device and authentication credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access.

5. Subscription and Payments

Populse offers paid plans (Basic and Pro) at published prices (currently ₹10/month Basic, ₹20/month Pro), processed through Razorpay. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis as per Indian consumer protection law.

6. Broker Connections

When you connect a broker account (Angel One, Zerodha, Groww, etc.) via OAuth or upload a CAS, you authorize Populse to read holdings data strictly for the purpose of displaying your portfolio. Populse does not place trades, does not modify your broker account, and cannot withdraw funds.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack the Service.
• Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent portfolio data.
• Use the Service to provide investment advice to others without the necessary SEBI registration.
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute content from the Service.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. While we take reasonable care in calculations (tax, returns, XIRR, etc.), we make no guarantee of accuracy. You are responsible for verifying information before acting on it, particularly for tax filings.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Populse and its proprietor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including but not limited to investment losses, missed opportunities, or tax penalties — arising from use of the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time, which removes your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Tamil Nadu, India.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be notified in the app. Continued use constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.
